EXPERIENCE has taught us that this process of modeling/helping always means that the
one who supposedly has something to offer, leads, and the person who supposedly
has less, follows or submits.
In
theory, it can only work when both partners in this exercise take a direction
together along the paths of helpfulness, hope, and health.
To
the outsider, it may initially appear that the helper is different than the
helped.
Not
true. The teaching-learning cycle is
perfectly balanced for all involved.
Thinking
we are greater than the other is only our ego’s attempt at a grandiose
understanding. It is a distortion which
tends to disrupt the deeper healing process.
