033 On Appreciating - Introspection

33            On Appreciating - Introspection

EXPERIENCE has taught us that self-realization is born of, and matures into, a distinctive kind of awareness.  Doctor Richard Morris Bucke referred to it as Cosmic Consciousness[1].
Bucke and Walt Witman were good friends and shared thoughts.  This distinctive kind of awareness seems to be more subjective than objective.
We are in it more than we’re noticing it.
It is an awareness that has been described in many different ways by many different people.  The mystics, for example, have spoken of it as the perception of the divinity and the perfection.
