39 On Appreciating - The Simple Truth of the Matter

EXPERIENCE has taught us that if the need to’s are not dealt with because we forgot them, missed them, or did not honor the necessity of dealing with them, all may be for naught.
It may then seem to the casual observer that we keep ending up at the same place over and over again, regardless of the effort we put into moving on.
These incomplete life cycles are powerful indicators that the “need to’s” are being neglected.
Anxiety, anger, fear, neurotic behaviours, phobias or addictions may surface.  We go out and do research, or whatever the current buzz phrase is for acting out.

The List Is Quite Extensive.

38 On Appreciating - The Simple Truth of the Matter

EXPERIENCE has taught us that the processes of healing and recovery have some very predictable need to’s that must be addressed if we are to get on with our journey of searching out the self.
First, there is a great difference between I want to and I need to.  The vast majority of us tend to lean on the side of I want to simply out of inherent laziness.  We tend to stay in this place of laziness until our lives become so unmanageable, so painful, that we’ll do anything, even the need to’s to get away from the discomfort.
Need to’s have to be done sooner or later.  They are what the mature adult in us will do to get on with having the life we want to have.  The want to’s, on the other hand, are what the lost child in us will want to do most of the time.
This expression of a supposed need versus a supposed want is deeply rooted in infantile dependency needs.

It Is Very Much A Primal Force.

34 On Appreciating - Introspection

34     On Appreciating - Introspection

EXPERIENCE has taught us that, once we notice our perceptions are disengaged from the domination of our predetermined narcissistic needs and conditions of personal interest, then they are free to frame the world as it is.  Life’s inherent magnificence is then within our grasp, and we can appreciate everything for what it really is, not for what we want it to be.

Life Is Truly Not What I Imagined It To Be.
